Micro-living or the tiny house trend is big and growing rapidly largely as a result of Pringle Bay locals\u2019 TinyHome Africa which produces fully-contained and equipped units. With a feature in the September\/October 2024 issue of Home\/Tuis magazines and a reality-TV show, Klein Paradys, on DStv\u2019s KykNet and earlier programmes by Marie Kondo support continues to grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tiny Home Africa\u2019s Yulande Rox and Grant Brooker will be guests at a Pringle Proms Compelling Conversation and lunch on Saturday, February 22 at 12 noon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yulande explains: \u201cMany people, including myself, are looking forward to creating tiny home estates where communal food gardens, work hubs and tiny homes are dotted around a natural landscape where less is much more. A sustainable off-the-grid lifestyle that incorporates regenerative agriculture, clean water sources and a natural environment is a human right that I believe everyone is entitled to.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She explains that by South African law the minimum size requirement for a main residential dwelling on an erf is 30m2 and the width of units, typically three meters, is determined by the size of vehicle allowed on the road. As a modular design additional spaces, like outside decking, can later be added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her history is in flat-pack furniture design which she expanded into creating the light-steel frame structures of Tiny Home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
